Hello, I am trying to determine if physical therapy can have positive feedback on patients with ALS.
I appreciate any feedback or advice on the subject.
Thank you,

I do a lot of ROM upper body and LIGHT physical exercise upper and lower. my answer is a definite yes

I do ROM and stretches on my husband, and it helps decrease joint pain, and contractures. It also increases circulation, thus swelling or edema.

I do a series of various stretches before sleep and again when I wake up. I do them in bed, then get up. I have plastic leg braces that assist me in walking about 400 feet per day total. I split it up in 4 trips. My PT and neurologist did not prescribe exercises, except for my hands. I moderately use a squeezing device and yellow theraputty. I use a walker, manual wheelchair and power wheelchair.

I do some stretching exercises, range of motion, that we were given by PT. I also see a chiropractor 2 times a week. He does shoulder and arm massage and even works on my throat muscles. (Medicare covers Chiropractic)

As long as you don't exercise to exhaustion, it can be beneficial.

Thank you for your answers.
