Hello Everyone, my name is Sam.
I am an MFA candidate at the Academy of Art University in SF, CA. Currently I am engaged in a 2 year long thesis project on prosthetic design for debilitating disease. I have taken on this project because my father has MS and I think there is a lot of room to design for people facing difficult conditions...
Ultimately, it is my goal to design a product that helps with day to day life while also changing the way that use of assistive products are viewed.
I could really use some help with my research to uncover key needs.
Specifically, I want to know about the difficulties of daily living. Where do the crunch points lie that might serve as opportunities to design around?
Please let me know if you are willing to help, I have a short survey to fill out. I have been working with a mentor who has ALS, but I would like to gather research from a broader group of people
