Just got our walk-in shower installed. Together dad & I can get mom into the shower. She cannot stand up by herself or ambulate at all anymore. The shower had a seat but to stand her up is very difficult because 1) she is afraid of falling; 2) the shower floor is slick and her feet do slid. Other than the usual bathtub "grippers" that you can buy anywhere, anyone have any good suggestions as to what to put on the floor?

When I worked as nurse assistant. I always used a large towel. It works great!
Just lay a towel down on the floor of the shower and it will not slide even after it is wet.
This also what we use for me now in the shower.

We found some interlocking squares of pool decking that is not slippery and impact resistant. Just Google it. Not expensive at all.

THERE are floor mats used in restaurant kitchens for anti fatigue--they are rubber and open weave design so water will not stand on them. those are available in places like restaurant supply or even Costco and Sams. they would work good.
