Hi,
I am a white, European, 54 years old woman. I dare to take from your time only because I am extremely scared. Two months ago I traveled o lot by plain and car. During my trip I experience discontinuous numbness in my hands and legs but I thought all was because of seating for many hours in the same position. Then I started to have a very strange sensation in my head like pins and needles, numbness, burning that move all around my face and tongue. I do not have any difficulties in swallowing tin liquids of solid food and I hope that my voice is not changed. I've been seen by 3 doctors (specialist in internal medicine) and no one reach a diagnosed. I tried so hard to get an app. with a neurologist but nothing free for 1 month from now. These symptoms are discontinuously but now I have twitches in different part of my body and in tongue. I started to have anxiety attacks and my life is miserable. In my mind is only one question: do I have ALS?
Thanks and God Bless.

I think your symptoms do not sound like ALS at all.

One month is fairly quick for a neurologist consultation. Pins & needles are generally not an ALS symptom and twitching, as you may have gathered from the stickies, are most often benign, but can be exacerbated by stress.

It can take a long time for a thorough medical investigation, so please try to relax in the meantime. I know it's not easy, but worrying will only intensify your fears.

Nothing in your description even puts ALS in consideration as a diagnosis, so put your mind at ease about that.

Mmmmm....seen a doctor?

1 month is an overly optimistic timetable. For a first appointment, most neuros have a 5-7 month wait unless there is an obvious emergency.

That sounds like multiple sclerosis to be honest ... Have u looked into that ?
