When my wife was diagnosed with ALS in 2009 she could still get around by herself. Her disease progressed over the next two and a half years. Last year I paid about 1/5 of my normal city and county taxes due to her illness and disability. Please check with your county or city or both tax offices and ask if they offer an exemption. You will have to get THEIR form signed by a physician declaring disability. Usually they exempt the school tax of your bill, which can be a wad. Do it now or early in the year or ask them when the last date to turn it in is. I hope this has helped someone!
