Hello everyone - l just tried my AVAPS yesterday and it was awful. My other ancient [Knightstar] machine doesn't blow air out of my mouth and spit all over the place. I realize it is new and I am used to my other one but the AVAPS doesn't let me breathe in and then the alarm goes off every minute or less. What's your settings mine are IPAP 12-16 and EPAP 4. My pulmonary doctor isn't familiar with ALS and the RT had to go to a seminar on AVAPS. I just want to understand it? The RT said the reason why l am spitting every where is because my mouth is open but can't you talk on it? I have a weak mouth :-(
