Is it safe for someone with ALS to have cataract surgery done?

i cant answer that. your doctor should be able to. i know its completely different, but if it helps at all- my PALS had LASIK done after he was diagnosed.

Can't see why it would be a problem. It's a 4 minute operation with the eye frozen.

Hi PJ, I had cataract surgery on both eyes months after my diagnosed. No problem for me. Best to discuss it with your Neuro. Good luck!
