Hi everybody

I live in the Birmingham area of England. Anyone on this site from the UK recommend a neuromuscular specialist? Willing to travel anywhere in the UK but would appreciate a personal recommendation.

Hello. Are you after an all rounder or ALS/MND specialist? Kings College Hospital in London is meant to be the leader in this area.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm looking for a good allrounder I suppose, to be honest. Do you have a good experience at Kings and is that why you can recommend it? I will certainly follow up on this.

We did not go to Kings, we are based in Manchester and go to Hope Hospital in Salford. There is an MND center there. My partner was diagnosed by a good all rounder, then the diagnosis was confirmed by an ALS/MND specialist. I know of several other UK based people who ended up at Kings due to difficulty in getting an appropriate diagnosis. I think they have a good team there.

Thanks for that. It gives me hope that I might progress with a diagnosis, rather than what I am being told at the moment 'keeping an open mind' after being definitely told it was lower motor neuron disease.
