The straps on my dad's BiPap are digging into his one ear, making it very sore. There is no way to place the strap so it won't cause injury or pain someplace. What is the best thing to place under/around the straps to cushion things? I bought some lamb's wool ( just a "wad"...like a giant cotton ball ) and will put that under the strap when Dad wakes up. Is there something better? This is very painful for Dad.

See if you can find some Dr. Scholl's Moleskin. It's soft on one side and sticky on the other. I use it on my nose sometimes if the mask is irritating.

Debbie.. it sounds like he probably needs a different mask! There are many different styles and designs, no need to stick with something that isn't working for him! Call your respiratory therapist or the company providing the bipap and explain the problem, and see if you can't find something that fits him better. You can also research masks online, so you have some ideas before you call.
