On a lighter note I want to say THANKS SO MUCH TO EVERYONE ON THE FORUM who has posted about their positive experiences with MDA offices.
After calling them, receiving their application and then waiting, waiting, waiting for the MD to sign it I went there yesterday-- it was three blocks from my house.
They couldn’t have been nicer. I picked up a walker and they are delivering a wheelchair in three days!
They even asked if I wanted a power chair, if only I had the accommodations for it!
For nine months I’ve been zapped, probed, scanned and jabbed. This was the first time someone actually did something for me. I felt like a kid in a candy shop.
At least now when I go to the Columbia Clinic I’ll have a chair to negotiate the city and lord knows what else.
