Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on whether or not ALS has any effects on smell, touch (pressure, hot, cold) and hearing at all? I know patients can see, but it is impaired at all?

My husbands sense of smell has increased amazingly since being DX. He also seems to be cold all the time.

Hi,
Same here, smell has increased greatly. I can detect smells I couldnt before and some, like air freshners etc make me cough.
I get cold feet a bit, they dont feel cold to me but if i touch them they are cold, I think due to circulation issues.

The rest of the senses are fine though.

There have been a couple of threads before on this, just search for it.
I think the smell and cold issue is common with many people.
