Hi Pao,

I'm sorry to hear about your dad and I can understand the difficulty you are having accepting this news and feeling overwhelmed by it. When my mom was diagnosed the first thing I did was research ALS. I think we deal better with things when we understand them. If you know what to expect it makes you able to prepare for things.

Have you contacted the ALS Society in your community? They will have a wealth of information for you and will be able to direct you to a support group.

I site I visit everyday is http://www.alsindependence.com it is run by a gentleman who has ALS and it features current news on research as well as on-line support groups and a forum for questions.

My thoughts are with you and your family. I'm sure you will find the people here very helpful and understanding.

Take care,
