The Indiana ALSA chapter is offering something new this year and I'm not sure that the word has gotten out, so here goes...

On Thursday, November 1, they have their big annual meeting in Indy with Dr. Robert Pascuzzi speaking on the state of ALS (what's new in research and treatment and what's not). From 6 pm to 7 pm that evening, the Visiting Nurse Service will be providing one of its flu and pneumonia shot clinics for anyone there who would like to take advantage of a convenient opportunity. One reason this is being offered is that we know that caregivers and families often miss out on good preventive care for themselves, and this should be a lot easier than a trip to the doctor or a wait in line at the grocery store clinic.

There will also be shots available at the November support group meetings in Bloomington and Richmond.

So... if there are any Hoosiers out there who want shots and need a convenient opportunity, these might help. Details are available at www.alsaindiana.org . They're not free, but they're the same price you would pay at the grocery store clinics and they will accept Medicare.

Thanks for passing the word along to anyone you know who might be interested in stopping in.

p.s. Dr. P. knows his ALS stuff and is an interesting speaker. All are welcome.

Great tip. Thanks for sharing. Here's wishing the conference every success! Cindy
