Letter from the Executive Director

As we wrap up the last few days of 2009, I wanted to congratulate you on the part you have played in supporting our families living with ALS this year. Through your generosity, we have been able to support over 400 patients in Georgia with home visits, support groups, equipment and assistive technology and ALS Clinics. Despite the difficult economic year, the Association has not reduced its services and in fact, has spent more than $2,500 on each patient and family living with ALS.

We are proud that we have maintained our standard of excellence and are working diligently to find ways to fill in the gap next year as other agencies, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, have announced service cutbacks. We recognize that we are now the sole provider of hands-on support and education to those impacted by this devastating disease. Through our dedicated staff and the countless hours logged by both our Board of Directors and hundreds of dedicated volunteers, we will continue to innovatively serve our community.

Whether you helped us reach 99% of our Walk to Defeat ALS goal, volunteered your time and talents to benefit our families, played a round of golf with us, advocated for our cause here or in Washington, D.C., told someone about ALS, or courageously are living with the disease, thank you for choosing to support The ALS Association of Georgia.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

ALSO:

Energizer recently presented a check for $50,000 to The ALS Association of Georgia in support of the recent Walk to Defeat ALS. This amazing contribution is the result of a promotion at Georgia Kroger stores during 2009.

WOWOWOWOWOW! Wish I lived in Georgia :]
