Hi Trevor,

I am sorry you are having these horrible symptoms. It must be very scary. But it sounds like you are also experiencing some intense anxiety, which can make everything worse. I don't think head pain/pressure or pressure in the lower and upper back sounds like a symptom of ALS, although hand weakness is a symptom, but also could be caused by many other things. have you had an EMG done? what has that shown? Have you seen a neurologist?

It sounds like a good idea to see your primary care doctor this morning. I would talk to him/her about your ALS fears. if they seem unfounded, perhaps the dr. can prescribe some anti-anxiety meds for you. is there any possibility that some of your symptoms could be caused by prednisone?

take care--

Sandra

Hello Trevor

I just read over some of your posts and in my opinion, your symptoms simply do not point towards ALS.

Certainly something is happening to you that needs to be addressed but right now, I wouldn't be worrying about any specific condition. Your set of symptoms are fairly vague in nature and it appears what you have has escaped detection by your physicians. Sometimes (and unfortunately) this is what happens. What needs to be done in those situations is to practice patience and do your best to be optimistic for a good outcome. Do your best to calm your family and to calm yourself. It appears as if you are most worried about ALS . . . and again . . . what you have shared does not point towards it. Take care.
