Just thought I would finish this thread. Mom went to the endo and he is still adjusting her thyroid. He definitely felt that some symptoms were thyroid and some were neurological.
Went to the ALS specialist yesterday and he confirmed my mom's diagnosis. She is very dehydrated and malnourished and that is probably part of the reason she has been so weak and disoriented. She will get a peg on Monday. We are hopeful that this will now give us a direction to move ahead and are looking forward to her being more alert and comfortable.
