Mum was only diagnosed because she remembered she had an Aunt that may have had
MND years before - her mentioning that began the doctors looking. She had been getting treated for extreme depression instead for a year...if she hadn't thought of it I dont think her doctor would have as mum is his first case!! it still floored us though - and she has been tested for the famil gene and there is no sign of it to our families relief.
