Hi everyone I hope tht everyone is well. I just got out of the hospital and am basically in the same spot as I was before I went in. I csn walk better but am still very weak. I had a whole team of drs check me out and so far nothing has come up. I literally had a colonoscopy, an endoscopy, a catscan of my chest all the way down, tons of blood work another mri and a ent dr put tht scope down my throat. The only findings so far is tht I am vitamin d deficient, I have acid reflux and a hiatal hernia and ther found a small nodule on my lung but said tht it is to small to biopsy at this time. They did all kinds of bloodwork but not all of it has come back yet. The one other thing tht came back positive is the ANA test it was speckled and 1:60 but some of the autoimmune tests tht they have done were neg. Does anyone knw if this could point towards a autoimmune disease more than als. The neuro tht examined me in the hospital looked me over for like 40 mins and said tht he didn't see anything to alarming and didn't think it was als but wntd to refer me to a specialist for a second opinion. I am so confused- I just don't understand because my weakness is all over and not focally which is how it normally starts right? I am so fatigued and one of the most alarming things and the reason they kept me in the hospital for o long is because I am losing weight rapidly but equally all over- the neuro didn't think I had atrophy which is wht I thought. Anyway sry for such a long post but I wntd to update u guys and would love it if you would give me ur opinions based on ur knowlege. Thank you so much and GOD BLESS

I'm glad to hear that you're out of the hospital, although I do wish it was in a better situation. I'm not sure how helpful this might be but just wanted to share that I've gone through the same exact tests over the last three weeks and came away with almost the same exact results. The endoscopy discovered a Hiatal Hernia and my bloodwork showed that I had a vitamin D difficiency (they put me on 50,000 IU every two weeks). I also have the same weakness all over instead of focally. I was originally seeing an endochronologist that also thought I had some type of autoimmune disorder until I started having difficulty with shortness of breath. I've been going to the Mayo Clinic for the last three weeks and they haven't had many answers for the symptoms so far but they scheduled me for a new round of tests that an MRI of spine and another one of my brain (had one 6 months ago that was negative). I wish I had some info that might be able to help but I'm still waiting on answers myself. I'll let you know if the tests discover anything new. Hope your feeling better soon!
