Hi again-- I hope you don't think I am a pain in the a-- for how frequently I've been posting, but another disturbing thing is emerging. whatever this is appears to be hitting my face.

I have had twitching off and on around my lower lip since this started, but now I have a feeling of weakness in my face, particularly in the jaw on the left side, and oddly, across my forehead when I move my eyebrows up and down. It even feels like the weak, sluggish feeling is in them muscles around my eyes, or the eye sockets. for some time I have also had a, off and on weird sensation around my nose and cheeks, it sort of feels like a very fine movement, but I can't see anything and it's not the same as the overt, and visible twitches that I get in other areas. sometimes it even feels almost itchy. I also keep getting this weird tingling in my upper cheek on the left side, by my eye.

all very weird. once again, had to tell someone. it helps to do that, somehow. I hope you don't mind.

Sandra

Sandra, if you're worried about ALS, your symptoms don't sound like it to me. (not a doctor) Are you still getting the EMG later this month? I'd bet you're a bit stressed by all this and that is contributing to your symptoms.

AL.

Hi Al, yes I am very worried about ALS, among other possibilities! I don't know if you read my earlier posts-- the facial weakness thing is just the latest symptom. started with hand weakness about 4 months ago, moved to left hand, then right ankle and leg. I am also having a lot of twitching (comes and goes, in hands, butt, feet, back, face) and have the beginnings of muscle thinning in my right hand, wrist, forearm. I have been posting for about a month now-- I have an EMG on 6/30. thanks for listening. I hope you are having a good day today,

Sandra

SandraD,
I have had the same thing (face), very similar or same as what you describe. Even to the point of having to consciously work harder at speaking so that words come out properly. I have been told repeatedly by specialists that I do NOT have ALS.

Same here Sandra, and no ALS.

I know it feels wierd, you know it feels weird, and nobody around you can understand what it feels like.

I've tried explaining things to family, friends, docs, etc. and they look at me like this :?, then this , then this , but never this :idea::idea:.

Anyway, hope I made you laugh anyway. Work at calming your fears and enjoying the blessings - all of us at least have SOME of those. :p
