Yes, Lydia, in fact the very first thing they figured was stress, but honestly, the only stress I was having was related to the abnormal gait, which is a pretty strong indicator that something is wrong. My feet hurt progressively more each day, which sucks, and my legs are stiff, I'm still skinny in the arms but my weight is finally up so I really don't know what's going on.
Though I have noted a great decrease in fasciculations of late, so those could very well be related to stress.
My doctor had me see a therapist because he thought I "looked depressed" (because someone who thinks they might have
ALS should be anything but

) but I put a stop to that because the therapy wasn't helping my physical condition any.
At least my Neurologist was smart. She noted that I don't have a long medical history, which indicated to her that I only go to the hospital when something is not right, which is so.
The best part, though, was at my last therapy session where my Psychiatrist said that it "May Be Something Medical Science Isn't Currently Aware Of" That made me feel really great, let me tell you. Sarcasam intended.
