I have recently found out that one of my father's uncles died from ALS in the 80's. I have also been told that my mother's father died of what was probably ALS back in the 50's.
No one else has had the symptoms or diagnosed of ALS on either side of the family.
What are the chances that, having these few family members with ALS, will make it a familar type?
