Default bulbar fear resurfaced again

I apologize to disturb You guys again. Fresh symptoms are giving me scary thoughts whole day and night. Whenever I eat or drink anything, mild cough starts (after eating or drinking). Some time fragments of food stucks in throat as well. I also suffer from excessive saliva (occasionally) and excessive yawning. Always feel wetness in my throat and always have urge to clear it. I also feel uneasiness for abot 20-30 minutes after taking meal. Did go to ENT specialist and he said it could be acid reflux. Prior to this I m suffering from body wide twitching for almost 6 months. Have one clean Emg of Limbs 20 days ago. My worry is about bulbar als. Can bulbar AlS come with dysphagia before slurring. I don't slur and dont have any twitchingh in tongue. plz guide me.

Bikku, as you wrote...

"Have one clean Emg of Limbs 20 days ago."

"plz guide me."

I will... YOU DO NOT HAVE ALS.

Bikku, Maybe I was rather blunt in this reply. In your first Thread you wrote...

"Doctor conducted EMG on 6 muscles. On both arm (around bicep) and hand (between thumb and index). On right thigh and right calf. According to Doctor EMG report is Normal."

This is your second EMG. One reply from a member indicated you have seen 3 Neuros.

One Neuro wrote on a prescription... "1. Anxiety 2. Hypochondriac and 3. Bening Faciculation syndrome."

Bikku... that is your diagnosis.

Have you tried treating the possible acid reflux? Your primary care physician can help you with that, and with your anxiety as well. But you have to ask.

You don't have ALS.

Best,
Laurie

Merged threads. Bikku, I don't think there's a need to keep posting at all- you truly don't belong here. However, if you do return, after you visit with your doctor, and feel the need to report what they say, do not open a new thread, keep it here on your original.

Thanx a lot friends. Can't explain how much my life has been ruined with this phobia. I am a sports journalist of a Hindi daily. Already been demoted for not putting enough effort in my work. In my office I was known to be a man of bright ideas. Now i have become man of nothing. Life of my wife and 10 years old daughter is also getting ruined bcz of my obsessive fear of this disease. Planning to vist a Gastoenterologist for complete check up of possible acid reflux or GERD, as my throat and middle of chest giving me burning feeling. Thnx for ur replies and support.

Only you are in control of how much this is ruining your life. Perhaps you should speak to someone professional about this unfounded fear of having ALS. That may get you further than chasing down a disease you do not have.

Best of luck to you.

Do you realize that there are people replying to you who are typing with eyegaze. They are actually dying, as am I. We provide this forum to answer issues people who are diagnosed with ALS are dealing with. To put it bluntly, massaging your neuroses is not something dying people have time or patience for. Please go and get help with anxiety, just do it somewhere else.
