Hi there.

I'm 27 years old, female an environmental engineer.

On September, i had weakness on my left arm and then twitches under my foot. Neuro ordered an EMG test, i had EMG on november 9th. Results was clear, i started psychological therapy but i hadn't use drugs, i take only the therapy. Although foot twitching is gone but weakness in my left arm is in progress. And yesterday I realize the vein in my thenar region on left hand. This vein is twitching, i don't feel but i can see, everybody can see.
My right hand does not show the vein in the same place. Is this an atrophy? Vascular twitching is caused by ALS?

And the most important question is:
If the doctor who performed the EMG test does not insert the needle in the right place, the test results may be wrong??

Thanks, a lot.

Yes a clear EMG means you do not have ALS. With ALS the denervation is so widespread that it would be impossible to miss. You have it on the authority of a neurologist that you don't have ALS. And no it can't be done too early. You are free to go. Hanging out here will not be healthy for you.
