Saw neurologist today. A couple of days earlier because she had a cancellation.
She recommended I go to Brigham and Women's in Boston to a muscle specialist. She said he was best in world lol.
I suggested she do another EMG before I go to Boston. She agreed to that idea. I'll have to wait until Dec 6 to have it done.
I asked about the first EMG she did 3 years ago and she said it was abnormal but not exactly indication of ALS. But it did indicate muscle problems. Anyway that's my update.
This is new thread because my original is closed.
Thank you all for the help and support.

that seems like a long time to wait. You could very likely be seen at Brigham before then.... who is the Brigham doctor?

I may be able to get it done sooner if she has a cancellation. Although she is off for the month of August. She gave the doctors name but I didn't write it down because I had my mind made up to have her do EMG first. I found out after she took me to scheduling that nothing was available until December 6. I may reconsider and go to Boston rather than wait so long.
Anyway thank you for answering Niki

You could make the Brigham appointment but stay on her cancel list. You may need Brigham anyway. Dr Amato possibly?

That sounds like the name but I didn't pay a lot of attention.
May I ask what you know about him?
Thanks Nikki

i don’t know anything bad. He is a neuromuscular specialist I go to MGH so I know those doctors. For ALS I would go to MGH( obviously, I did) but I am not sure comparatively for other neuromuscular issues. Brigham and MGh are sister institutions

Thanks again Nikki.
I'll let you know how I make out.
Have a nice summer.
