October, 2006 I noticed muscle wasting in both arms and face when it was mentioned to my doctor, she said, "Don't be silly, it is just normal aging." In February 2007, I started tongue tremors and random muscle twitching. I saw a neurologist in July, who had me touch my nose with both index fingers and walk a straight line. She then diagnosed me with familial tremors and anxiety. She started me on Lexipro which I could not take and I am still having tongue biting and random twitches, but now it seems to be difficulty speaking as well. Is ALS random muscle twitches and is tongue tremors ALS or can it be familial tremors? I have been bitten by numerous tics over a five month period. The test for Lime Disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever have come back negative. Any opinions or advice regarding this matter would be helpful. Thank you.

I would schedule an appt. with a neuromuscular specalist clinic, who specalizes in ALS. They will be able to tell you what it is.
