Hello! I'm 34 years old female. About a month ago I woke up with feeling of numbness in triceps.Literally one muscle.I know i didn't sleep on it, because I'm not able to sleep on that side because of back pain. Arm is weaker, About week after that I went to see my physician, she just shook the head when I mentioned ALS, made me press towards her, hit my elbow with reflex hammer and said nothing is wrong. My arm seems to be getting weaker and I'm very scared. I don't have family so there's no one to take care of me if I become disabled. I can't sleep or eat because of fair. Do these symptoms sound familiar to those who really have ALS?

Hi
Numbness is not a symptom of als it's a sensory symptom so in fact would point away from ALS, I hope this reassures you.

No ALS, you sound like you are trying to talk your self into being sick, you are already worried about who is going take care of you.

You're right. I worry too much.
