Started 6 months ago during April or early May; I was laying on the couch and my right ankle started twitching. I didn't mind it till it kept happening and spread to my calf. Went on Google and found ALS. Watched videos and documented stories from people of how they first experienced ALS.
This has been bothering me ever since that day and nothing changed but is persistent. I've seen a neurologist and had an MRI and EMG done during... late June or July? I think it was July 6 or something. ANYWAY; they both came clean. After the EMG, I was fine till I realized I didn't get my bulbar muscles tested. So I started talking one day after getting up and my breath was shaking and basically ran out of breath as I talked. This was about... 2 weeks after the EMG?
So me being scared of bulbar, my voice continued to be shaky and had a feeling of saliva in my throat(not the back where the collar bone is but kinda where your nasal area is.) I also noticed myself swallowing a lot, but I still don't have any slurring(afraid that one day I'll wake up slurring.) I can still swallow liquids and solids, but I think this MIGHT be the early stages where I'm able to swallow and KINDA talk normal. KINDA talk normal? Well, I say this because it seems when I talk, there's this weird feeling where it feels like my nasal passage interrupts my speech? Kinda like snorting as I talk? This developed about... on August or late June I believe. I cough up THICK white saliva that taste like snot or gross sinus sick mucus.
Recently, I believe this developed during early or late September, I've been developing back pains that occur when sitting for long periods of time. However; this comes and goes and I'm just assuming it's because I spend A LOT of time on the computer working at home.
Again; recently I have noticed that my right chest pec is significantly smaller than my left. I noticed this after I got done lifting weights(which I recently started.) I should also note that after lifting weights, my right arm where the shoulder is, became VERY stiff. It's been like this for about... 1 week now, and still fearing that it could be ALS.
What I have done, recently, about 3 days ago, is setup an appointment to be seen by an ALS specialist this Wednesday.
Now... do you guys think I might be getting the big word on my list of health probs? I have history of health anxiety and panic attacks. Do you think my mind is manifesting these symptoms? Do you think that I am worrying too much? I really want to be calm so I can get pass these 3 days for the ALS specialist meetup.
