So I am going to start by saying I am using speak to text so there will be no punctuation in this thread and for that I'm sorry my symptoms started probably about a little over a month ago I went to the doctor for lower back and leg fatigue but mostly for my back and I started swimming and after the second time swimming to help my back I noticed my left calf with twitch and not really like a muscle spasm but more so like a little ripple twitches and they have now moved to my other leg and my tricep and forearm and lip will rarely and occasionally twitch once or twice they don't really bother me a time during the day if I moving around but when I am aroused they can be bad sometimes other times they are not I get this warm lake feeling when I'm standing in my left leg it started in my thigh about two months ago while sitting at my desk and now if I stand for anything over five or 10 minutes my whole left leg feels flush warm and I have a hard time holding my kid for more than 5 to 10 minutes because of my lower back my doctor seems to think it is tilted lumbar and slightly compressed T 11 and 12 and I am in physical therapy but I feel like the lake for tea and the twitches in the lower back pain are going to drive me insane I'm 31 and just had my first child and I know instances are rare but it's freaking me out have an MRI scheduled in two weeks but I figured I probably need to go see an LS doctor, please help if you have any advice. Also its weird i feel like my left thigh is bigger than the right but my left calf is bigger than the right. Have no difficulty with havds or feet.

This does not sound anything like ALS. Twitching means nothing--really--believe us on this! Twitching is not diagnostic for this disease!!! I am not quite sure how you jumped to ALS with your symptoms. Work with your doctor and continue PT.

I didn't read it except a quick skim because you refused to punctuate.

I couldn't see that your hands are disabled, so you were just being lazy?

Many of our PALS can only move their eyes, yet they punctuate as they can't read big blocks of text either.

I didn't see any evidence of ALS in the bits I skimmed through.

Yea sorry about that. That was probably rude and lazy. So yea basically ive had anxiety in the past, but nothing like this. Just had our first child so just wanted to see what people thought. My stuff started with my back which i dunno if als can do that or if i am just being paranoid.

Secondly, the fascilations are so hard to ignore. They are mostly noticeable at rest. Some days worse than others. I had a coach die from this so it makes me so sad to consider it could happen to anybody. My cramps are only cramps when extending toes to flex calves and boh cramp up but easily relieved. Legs just feel heavy, hip muscles have a weak burning feeing and i fee like i just tire ao easily. I last lifted over three months ago and dunno if that is causing weakness. Also get a weak buzzing feeling in backnof legs. And leg warmth in left leg upon pressure usually. And my body hair pulls out really easily. So weird and frightening. I respect this disease and the people if affects. Jist need advice. Am i just a not job?

Thank you for making a post that is easy to read :)

I don't see ALS in anything you wrote. Did you read the post at the top of this forum section titled READ BEFORE POSTING?

It does address most of what you report. You have lots of 'feelings' and that's just not ALS. This is a disease where the nerves in the brain and spinal cord die, and then the muscles die because the nerve stops giving any signals. So you don't feel stuff, you simply stop working.

What did your doctor say?

He put weight on my legs and didnt notice weakness. Referred me to pain management specialist. And wants to do an mri since physical therapy hasnt really worked. I wanna trust doctors but having anxiety makes it hard to. I hear what you are saying, things dont come as easy to me right now but i can still feel everything and have no dead hands arms legs etc. i guess ill take that as a positive. Just weird sensations so i guess its good im feeling things.

I guess my fear is that my left leg is atrophic and getting weak. It is weaker than my right i feel but still can do everything. Does the leg not gradually get weak and die or does it just die? Would i have fascilations early on? I just like advice from people dealing with this.

If the doctor didn't note any weakness then you do not have clinical weakness. Perceived weakness is not the same as clinical weakness. If you do not believe a doctor who actually examined you, why would you believe strangers on the Internet? Your symptoms do not sound like ALS. Work with your doctor and enjoy your life.

You need to read the sticky post I referred you to so we don't have to explain everything over and again.

I know you are anxious, but I think we've answered your questions from a position of knowing ALS very well. Good luck.
