Hi everyone.

I'm 25 years old and generally healthy. Recently, I've noticed I couldn't move well my pinky finger. Now, I've already lost strength and I barely can put it straight.

I've done an EMG yesterday which showed 2 PSW in 1st dorsal interosseous muscle and fasciculations on both legs. (I've been feeling some twitches in legs and in the 1st DI on both sides)

The doctor told me there was no sign of chronic denervation and couldn't say there is enough evidence of MND.

I am having a follow-up exam (another EMG) 20th May performed by a specialist.

Any advice of what questions should I ask to the doctor?
Does it sound like ALS?

Thanks.

I would suggest you keep your mind open.
So far everything points totally away from ALS.

So you should ask things like - what are my tests and examinations showing, what can we rule out and what do you suggest.

Let us know after the next EMG. Until then, your chances of having something that can be fixed are nearly 100%

Hi again,

I've already done the EMG (always a pleasure ) and he didn't find any signs of denervation, not even in the 1st DI, where it showed up last time. Still, he couldn't explain me why it has showed up (2 PSWs) the last time.

I don't feel any better physically, with weakness in my right hand, but I am "cleared" for now and hope it stays that way.

Time will tell...
Thank you for the support.

In the meantime, I've contributed to the Project Mine against ALS.
Wish you all the best.
