So recently when I sneeze I loose my voice for a minute or 2. It becomes raspy and low. I guess you could say a hoarseness. This eventually goes away and returns to normal. Today I was talking to a client at my job and I kept having to clear my throat and it was very raspy. I guess this was due to allergies or a lack of water intake but I haven't read anything about loosing your voice when you sneeze hard. Could this be due to muscles becoming weaker? Also my bottom lip felt a little weird today and I kept getting a feeling in that muscle that makes you laugh and I had the need to smile of that makes sense. I have heard these are symptoms of bulbar als.

I also do get twitches in my legs here and there. Typically in my calfs, quadriceps and thighs. However I do some running at the gym.

Thanks for all your help. I very much appreciate it.

Doesn't sound even remotely like any bulbar onset I've seen or heard of which is great news.

You can read just about anything online if you look for it.

I'd suggest, read the sticky at the top of this section that says read before posting.

Maybe see a doctor now as it could be anything, in fact it will be anything other than a terminal illness I'm sure :)

Ahaha I guess so. I just wasn't sure why my voice is getting hoarseness after sneezing. I had to talk a lot without any water today and if allergies cause dry throat then that's probably it. I haven't had any runny noses and they have been rather calm this year. So I got worried.

The twitching in my leg is most likely from working out I guess.

Thank you affected. You get a high five.

So 1 last question. I just had a lovely Burger King meal. French fries and chicken fries and had no trouble getting it down. No coughing it up or whatever. I had some strawberry short cake and it feels like it gets stuck in my throat. Maybe this is just cake being cake but yeah. Some .gov site said that trouble swallowing was a symptom of ALS. I am worried.

No, that's not it, either.

Don't worry about ALS.

As Mike says - nup that's not it, you are fine.

Thank you. Things feel better today actually. Maybe something was off. The only thing I'm worried about now is the twitching in my left quad. It comes and goes and sometimes goes to my calf. For like maybe a second. Happens once or twice a day. I will look more into it.
