Hi folks. I'm probably being paranoid bit I need some advice. I have been experiencing episodes of twitching for about 18 months or so. It started in my abdomen then moved.on the calf's, arms, face and even eyelids. Also in some pretty intimate places too. The come and stay for a few days then settle down for weeks then flare up again for No reason. I have no weakness or atrophy or trouble carrying out daily tasks. My GP was never concerned despite numerous visits and he wouldnt refer me to a neurologist.

My latest episode is abdominal twitching when I lay on my right side. It's fine at all other timeservices! Weird!

I suppose my main question is, ifyou twitching was due to ALS, surely after 18 months of twitching I would have progressed to a point where it would be undeniable that I had als? Surely it wouldn't progress that slowly.

Thanks in advance :)

You are correct. Twitching without weakness is meaningless and 18 months proves it. Sounds like your GP is a keeper
Did you read the sticky? It speaks about twitching and contains a quote from Dr Orla Hardiman who is from your part of the world and a leading ALS specialist
