Hello all.

I had a quick query: do either of these things have an impact on ALS fasciculations?

1. Having a bath - i.e. do fasciculations stop or greatly reduce (frequency and/or severity) when submerged in warm water? Or does having a warm bath have no impact at all on ALS fascs?

2. Taking a sedative (e.g. Valium)?

Many thanks.

Just as a follow up. I noticed my fascs greatly subsided (fitfully completely) when in a warm bath. I also had an EMG today that I was told showed no evidence of muscle or nerve damage (what I was told didn't get more technical than that), and that I should get ALS "out of my head".

I only note this here as I know how many anxious people read these boards, and I'm not claiming there is a correlation between fascs that go away in a hot bath (or not) and fascs related to ALS, but I thought I'd share my experience nonetheless - it may help someone.

> EMG ... showed no evidence of muscle or nerve damage

Clean EMG = No ALS

Makes your other questions moot.
