hi, i got foot drop a little over 2 months ago. it went away on its own last week. i have noticed that when i fan my fingers out wide that my pinky has a slight strain and shakes a little. i am scared of possible ALS, but was wondering if anyone has heard of someone with ALS getting foot drop and then it going away like that? please advice.

No ALS here.

Foot drop is often a first symptom in ALS, but it never goes away. You see, ALS isn't really about the foot muscle, it's about damage in the brain. ALS destroys a motor nerve in the brain so that it cannot send a signal to the foot muscle. Once that motor nerve in the brain is destroyed, it can never get better.

Your doctor can help you with your finger. Don't sweat ALS.

Mike is dead on. No ALS, and no need to wait for more responses (no one here will disagree with what Mike's told you).

Let your doctor diagnose you, and I wouldn't even ask about ALS. Good luck!
