Hi, I made a post maybe 4-5 months ago about me having fasciculations. 4 months later I am still having them. They are body wide, come and go and only last for a few seconds. It can jump from part of my body day to day, like one day my thumb, then my ankle, face, then maybe repeat the pattern again. I have talked to 2 doctors about this, actually 3 including an orthopedic doctor. They all tested me for weakness and I had none, the most recent weakness test was on Monday by the orthopedic specialist. I didn't mention ALS to the orthopedic doctor but one of the reasons I was there was because of the fasciculations and neck pain I had been having. Turns out the neck pain which has been happening for maybe 2-3 months maybe was from a muscle spasm they believe. I am taking physical therapy to take care of that right now. Also he gave me some meloxicam for it. The other two doctors I saw both did tests on me, one a PA-C(4 or 5 months ago) and the other an MD(1-2 months ago) said they did not think I had ALS. I also asked my MD what he thought was causing them, and he said he didn't know. I had blood drawn and I did not have a magnesium deficiency. Also, my physical therapist did a weakness test on me, which was on Wednesday and I had no weakness. I am still very concerned on what could be causing me to have these fasciculations, my biggest worry is that I could have ALS. I am very sorry for making a 2nd post about this, but my mind is very worried about what has been happening to my body for these past few months.

No clinical weakness means no ALS. We are not going to tell you anything different this time read again the responses from February. Look up benign fasciculation syndrome. You do not have any reason to be here

In no way, shape or form do you have ALS. NOTHING you describe would lead to an ALS diagnosis. On top of that your age makes it nearly impossible. Stop all your googling, listen to your doctor and enjoy your young life.

The first thing any doctor worth their salt will advise their patients, no matter their age, is NOT to self-diagnose on the internet, where 95% of the information you find will be erroneous.

Please trust your parents and your physicians at this point to provide you with the proper guidance and testing to see what might be happening, if anything. Don't forget that stress is a huge factor and can easily bring on symptoms that you might relate with a myriad of diseases. You're too young to be worried about crap like this.

Go have fun! ;)

I've also been feeling a little achy over the past few days, anyway I am sorry about the posts I have made. I will admit, I do have bad anxiety and I easily get worried about things. For example, once I looked up my symptoms before and convinced myself I had cancer...

As you mention achy and pain I have to suspect that you've not read the READ BEFORE POSTING sticky.
Pain is not normally associated with the onset of als.
Add that to your age and and the chances you have als are infinitesimal.

Move on: you don't belong here. Lucky you!

Work on the anxiety.
