Hello, I'm a 19 year old having some issues. I have been having trouble breathing and also had some trouble swallowing for about 2 years now, also had a panic attack at that time and feeling a bit out of my head. Now i'm going to the doctor every few weeks but it's always the same I'm completely healthy my longs are good and my blood didn't show anything unusual. About two weeks ago i woke up and suddenly felt a cramp in my right calf, doctor waved it off. Now i have been experiencing muscle twitching in my right leg but also in my arms, stomach and some other places. I also have the feeling that my right leg has lost some power in comparison with my left one but i can still do everything. My left nose wing is also twitching the whole time and i have the feeling ( I know it isn't about feeling but i can also see it a bit in the mirror ) that the left part of my face is a bit more heavy. Whenever i talk my words sometimes come out in a wrong way. I used to smoke pot a lot for a while in the 2year period and stopped smoking about 3 days before i had the leg cramp. Are these some symptoms of ALS and should i go to the doctor again ? And can it be that I have been trouble with my muscles for a longer time but because of my smoking i didn't really notice it ? I also have to tell that i'm somewhat stressed thinking the worst maybe some hyperventilation also because of my problem with breathing. Its weird that I have been trouble with my breathing for about 2 years but no muscle related problems and suddenly i quit smoking and these things come up. I have an appointment with a neurologist in about 2 weeks. 19 would seem very young right?
Thx for responding i propably can't understand how hard it is for you guys.

Also the last few days it has gotten worse, I can't sleep well, i wake up like 4-5 times because of my breathing problems . I also used to wake up just as i fell asleep gasping for air. and in the morning it feels like i am not rested at all.

Do think maybe, maybe a whole lot, it's called... narcotic withdrawal?

I have stopped before and i never experienced these things, also it's been almost 3 weeks now and if there is any withdrawal it should normally be over after 2 weeks.I know that by saying that i have smoked i might look like a stupid or something but that is not the case, I just want to be honest . The breathing is something i have from before that and it got worse. Went to a lung specialist and they found nothing special.

Maybe it didn't affect you the first time but it's caught you this time. It's clear you have a drug problem which triggers severe health anxiety issues and psychotic issues. The thing about your left nose wing twitching is probably the clincher to anxiety related symptoms.

Have you considered a rehab program? Denial is, "I don't have a problem... I can quit anytime. I have before."

Something to think about.

>Denial is

a river in Egypt :)

No I haven't considered that but also because i'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my habit of smoking ( I don't ever do any other drugs or even cigarettes or drinking ), I quit cold turkey so I'm pretty sure I'm sane, however i do have some stress because of some family issues which may play part but that still doesn't explain the breathing, swallowing problem and so on as these started about 2 years ago and have gotten progressivly worse. Maybe your right and it is a bit anxiety or psychotic I'm open for anything as I have really had it with having these symptoms as a 19 year old. I am a bit a hypochondriac as i always search stuff up and etc but these symptoms for me are real. Well I'm going to a Neurologist on the 17th of march and if nothing comes up there I guess I may give a psychologist or something a shot. I just don't want to be seen as a "crazy person" when maybe I do have a MND or something else. Thanks for responding it's nice to talk as i don't really have much people to talk this with about.

Antwerp, remember all pot is not created equal. You may have been using a much more powerful concentration lately without knowing it, and/or with something extra thrown in, even if from the same source. The answer to your question is yes, even while smoking, if your symptoms were really getting steadily worse you would have noticed.

Talk to your doctor about a sleep agent for the short term and, as Al says, either stop smoking or if you feel you can't, get help for it. To appreciate the life that you have ahead of you, do something this week for the less fortunate and treat yourself to a nice walk in the woods. Breathe in some fresh air and reflect on how fortunate you really are.

"I have been having trouble breathing and also had some trouble swallowing for about two years now".

If you had ALS you would no longer be talking, eating, and certainly not smoking weed. Bulbar onset has an average life span of one to three years. It is progressive. You would be in the advanced stages by now and would have no use of your tongue and lips, and would be losing your ability to breathe, too. Get on with your young life, and get help for your anxiety.

Also i have been having soms pain in my throat like im being chocked

Bartalman,

Looked at your images... nope. The last one looks more like a bruise. The first two were too cropped.

I'll tell you a short story about Pot. In Viet Nam the military would also spray that famous dioxin on marijuana the natives grew to sell to our GIs. When the natives saw it had been sprayed they would quickly harvest it and spray it with Clorox to stop it from turning black and keep it's golden color after it dried. Pot is completely unregulated. (Tobacco farmers have to keep records). You have no idea what chemicals are used to enhance Pot's growth (soil/seeding), while it's growing and after it's harvested. Anybody who grows Pot wants theirs to be the best and they have their secrets.

I haven't smoked in 3 weeks now, so i don't think that should have anything to do with the problems with my hands. My right dominant hand seems to work slower like I have trouble making smooth movements.Here are 2 other pictures;

You need to give it up....your search for a terminal illness that is. You don't have ALS in any way, shape or form.

ITs just that everybody seems to be blaming these symptoms to my history of smoking but I can't find something about anyone else having these. Its not normal for a 19 year old to have pain in his lungs, problem with moving fingers, swallowing, breathing etc. These symptoms are real. And maybe i do overreact a bit but I have been having trouble for 2 years now and doctors wave me off like I have nothing. On the 17th I will see a neurologist and keep this post updated.
