Hi Guys, just want to confirm two things.

Does atrophy always follows weakness? Because I am twitching for a few days in my thenar i.e. between thumb and index finger area and I feel that left palm thenar has a dent, though I don't feel any difference in strength.

And if so, would EMG have picked that up? As I told earlier that I had an EMG on right arm and leg which were normal, so does that eliminate ALS if it started on left hand or for that matter from the whole body?

Regards,

Honey we answered you on your last thread already, please don't keep fixating on this and come back on new threads trying to convince yourself.

Go see your doctor for your own peace of mind and medical answers.

EMG picks up the problems before you even feel symptoms in an area.

In ALS, atrophy occurs because the muscle has had no nerve connection for a long time. That is, it's been paralyzed, limp and useless for awhile.

In this post and others, you have not described ALS. Don't worry about it.
