Brief synopsis of history: in April of this year started twitching all over, felt some buzzing and tingling in hands and feet/legs. Went to PCP he thought it was my anxiety. Went to mt chiro and passed clinical exam. Went to neuro (mnd specialist) and passed two clinical exams and a NCS in July (he said I did not need an EMG) so I did the right thing and believed my doctor. Things have been great since I stopped stressing about all of this but...

Fast forward to this Monday and I am feeling some weakness in my right thumb/palm area. Also soreness in bicep and forearm. I'm still able to play drums (I do so about three times a week) and lift weights, I started a lifting big after getting over this last bout of anxiety, but when writing with a pen a felt some intermittent weakness.

Does this weakness in my thumb/ soreness in my palm and arm warrant another trip back to the neuro/dr. ?

Thanks, and happy thanksgiving.

You don't have ALS. That is all we are qualified to tell you. Go to your primary physician and ask him rather or not you should see a neurologist again. The PALS on here don't have the extra energy to spend diagnosing you. You don't belong on this forum so kindly take your questions somewhere else. Good luck to you.

If you are so worried, please go back to your doctor rather than posting here, it is much healthier for you I can assure you. If you ever get a diagnosis of ALS, which I highly doubt and definitely hope you do not, then come back here, otherwise you are so much better playing your drums and lifting your weights and being a part of life.

All the best.

Thank you. I'll never come back unless I have too.

Is the NCS a good enough way to rule it out?

Tillie,if the NCS was performed in July it would still be valid so to speak ?

read my last post, if you are worried go to a DOCTOR rather than expecting people dealing with a terminal illness to answer

You mention you are "lifting big" now with your weight lifting, and playing drums three times a week. Did it ever occur to you that this is what causes thumb, arm and palm weakness/soreness for goodness sakes? Your 27 and able bodied. You don't have this horrible terminal illness.
