Hi All
Recently I have started to develop symtoms that I am concerned are MND related.
My father passed away from MND late last year.
I work as a carpenter and 2 weeks ago started to get really bad pain in both arms.
I could not open and close my hands.
Over the next few days the pain transferred from right to left hands and arms.
The left shoulder become sore and pain in my wrist was excruciating, I could not open or close my hand.
The right arm pain radiated from the elbow to the wrist and hand with the same issue re opening and closing.
I have back problems, knee pain and leg weakness along the backs of the legs to the ankles and feet and with a lot of tenderness in the legs and feet also.
I am extremely tired all the time, to the point where I can't get off the couch.
Iv'e also started to get headaches and chest pain and what feels like high blood pressure.
This wakes me up at night accompanied by a tingling numbness in either arm.
The sleep disturbance and arm numbness and increased heartbeat issues have been there for a while but the other problems are relatively recent.
I am seeing a GP at the moment and having tests done to determine whether I have
Carpal Tunnell.
I would appreciate any opinions in regards to these symtoms.
Thanks

Hey there Scout.
*****. Read the stickies. ******

SCOUT: Reading your symptoms, I can confidently say you don't have anything approaching MND or ALS.

Read the stickies.

I can't believe we have 2 aussies suddenly posting here. Yeah miles apart NT and WA but this is odd.

Your father is so unlikely to have had an MND that could pass on to you that you can forget that. And obviously he was at least say 20 years or more older than you, so why would you get it now?

Be patient and work with your GP, he/she is your best way to be directed to the right specialists.

Your symptoms sound like your GP suspects - carpal tunnel. They do NOT sound like MND at all. Why don't you believe your GP or ask all these questions of your GP?

Please do read the stickies as you have been advised, and only post back if your DOCTORS start to think you have MND. That's a favour to all of us. You can only worry yourself sick doing this.

Actually read the last 20 or so threads in this section if you think you really should keep posting ... sheesh

Affected, it is probably google optimization, one aussie leads to the other.

And yes Scout, read the stickies.

Just to add to the above---
Read the stickies, sounds like CTS, does not sound at all like MND, stop worrying, listen to your PCP, don't have Dr Google diagnose you.
