About 7 months ago I was in hospital for brain surgery. Around 5 months ago I had what I believe to be the flu, and my legs were very sore and stiff. After this I developed severe twitching in my legs and face, and eventually areas like my back and feet. I used google, and convinced myself I had BFS. However, around two months ago I noticed large dents below both my knees, and very visable atrophy on both my outer legs near at my hamstring, however I have noticed no weakness. Is there anything that could give me twitching and atrophy without weakness? I am very scared.

There are many things to consider. Twitches are common and usually benign. Dents are the same. Is the atrophy confirmed by a physician? Even if it is there are many causes and it sounds like it is both sides? ALS is disease of weakness and generally starts in one area on one side

Are you still under the care of a neurologist? Call him/her if you can. Otherwise go to see your gp but to me does not sound like ALS

The Atrophy is not confirmed, but I do not see what else could cause the area around my Hamstring on both sides to become smaller and shrunken. It is identical on both sides.

I have a follow up appointment for my brain surgery soon, I will bring it up with him then.

Of course you do not see what else I could be. You're not a doctor. Trust your PCP to send you to the right specialist.

The Atrophy is not confirmed, but...... It is identical on both sides.

I have atrophy in both hands and arms and lower legs and they are definitely not identical......I doubt anyone's atrophy is identical limb to limb.

Let a doctor look. Get away from the magic mirror.

I also have occasional feelings of pain in the atrophed areas and lower leg, alongside a very rare almost burning pain(have had it twice since I noticed atrophy)

You are saying that you had brain surgery. You are not going into detail, but surely you must have follow up visits concerning this?

I would recommend you to contact your neurosurgeon and discuss this.
