Hi everyone.

I am wondering if anyone can shed some info on me.... I am a 35 year old female..I started in November with serious gastritis. after a month of gastgritis I started with pain in legs and arms tenderness to the touch. I started feeling twitching in legs nothing crazy until I had gotten the flu and the symptoms worsened. I started with severe weakness in legs especially the calves which would come and go. the twitching worsened and buzzing began in my feet. My memory became horrible and I felt lethargic. As time went on I changed my diet etc. I went to a neuro who perfomed two emgs one on each side of my body along with NCV testing and 4 MRI's. All clear. All the while I now feel pain in legs arms wrists pain is different daily but legs are always affected. During my bought a few months back even my eyes were affected and I had tinnitus which went away eventually and hasnt reoccured. So I am just so confused as I have had pretty thourough testing also went to a rheumotologoist who took more blood then I thought I could produce and NOTHING only test that came back slightly elevated was RA which he said is normal and I dont have that either. I also have been tested for lyme nothing conclusive but I went under treatment for a while as I live in an area where lyme is high. I guess I am looking to you guys for some foresight. I am in pain constant with some breaks form twtiching and pain but not for any long periods) as I wont take pain medication as I need to work and care for my daughter. But some days just feel unbearable with the mucle tremors and pain in my legs.. I also get occasional lethargy spells.. If anyone has any foresight I am open. thank you all for listening as I have heard conflicting views with ALS and would love anyone to give me advise?

Thank you all for taking your time.:?

This sounds nothing like ALS. The clear EMGs and lack of clinical weakness confirm the fact that you don't have anything that points to ALS. Did you check Guillain–Barré syndrome? Your symptoms worsening after flu are why I say that. Of course, I'm no doctor. It's just a suggestion. Things like that are usually discovered by spinal tap. I'd keep at it until it gets solved and/or fixed, and I wouldn't stress about it.

Thank you for your reply. I have researched that as well however my symptoms started before the flu and worsened after. This is 8 months later and my legs hurt so bad at times twitch tremor and cramp my feet cramp or just feel like they might sometimes my calves feel that way. Sometimes my back and stomach twitch as well. I have pain in the arch of my foot as I am typing and a trembling feeling in my thighs with pressure. I have alot of pain I know which isnt usually associate with the primary symptoms of ALS. I am sorry if I am wasting anyones time. I know how serious ALS is as I have friends who have suffered. I guess I am scared as my friend who recently passed start3ed with cramping in his legs and my legs have been my primary sorce of pain twtich etc. However the pain and twtiching do resolve for short periods...

Thany you for your time!

@cynkevtay:

Do yourself a favor and try to stay off these boards. It will only increase your hypochondria and your anxiety as well.
Being here will not help you more than seeing a real Physician can do.

Why can't you choose something else and chase that for a while? Your primary complaint is pain yet you refuse to address that. Chronic pain will present as neurological issues and add on worry about the other things and it will worsen. Thyroid, lumbar spine issues will do all you say. Find a doctor and don't give up. Leave these folks alone. They know what they have and are just trying to enjoy and help each other. Respect them please, schedule appointments with a pain management clinic and an endocrinologist and a physical rehab specialist. If that doesn't work be diligent and keep seeing medical professionals until you are satisfied. Dr. Google is not your friend. Get on anxiety meds until you are diagnosed. Good luck.

@nighthawk

I have been to several physicians. No diagnosis and all Im Left with is pain twitching and anxiety... For one thing I wish all I had was hypochondria.... However my pain is very real.. I don't mean to be disrespectful but honestly there is no where else to go for me but to ask questions to those who can maybe guide me. Do I go see another specialist?.. I agree this forum can create more anxiety for sure. I can take honesty just say I'm wasting people's time here. I'm fine with that but I am so physically exhausted and emotionally from not knowing what's going on....

Hi Cynkevtay...You are NOT a hypochondriac...the symptoms you are having are very real and not imagined...I went through the exact same symptom list as you just described...including the shaky muscles...I can explain alot of this to you if you would like someone one to talk to about it....Leave me some kind of contact info on my profile page here and we can talk if you like...But first things first...you need to know that you are ok and what is going on, that there is a reason for it...but its not what your thinking..

Hope you are ok and hopefully talk soon.

I want to thank you so much for understanding. I feel crazy sometimes. I have so much pain twitching etc with no diagnosis... I want to blame it on anxiety but I'm not really anxious about anything but trying to find the source of all this so I can treat it.... I sent you a message on your page. I thank you very much or your time
