Hello , first I want to say thank you to anyone who reads this post and I am so very sorry for those of you that have been diagnosed. I have been having symptoms since january that keep evolving.
In January- I started having tingling in my feet then my hand and shooting pains through out body plus chronic right knee pain. I had an mri and emg and they were normal.
Now- since then more symptoms have developed the body pain has gotten worse plus I get an electric shock in one foot when stretched. Now both knees are in pain I am having foot and hand cramping . I also have muscle spasms sometimes you can see them sometimes just feel them. I get the spasms mostly upper arm and upper thigh but sometimes other places as well. I have also noticed my balance is off, and I will get sharp shooting pains in feet and hands , ears sometimes all different places. Any help would
Be appreciated I have myself very concerned. I do have an appt with an ALS specialist in 3 weeks but I'm worried sick. Thanks for listening .

Sorry for your pain! From my own experience, I have had nothing like you describe. No tingling, no shock feelings etc.
I have sore knees. It's not the ALS - it's due to age and too many years pounding the pavement.

I think the ALS specialist will give you good news! Please try not to worry ( yeah right!) - and keep looking for answers.

Please do let us know how it goes for you.

I thank you so much for your reply the reason I worry is the muscle spasms an the cramping have gotten worse. I hope that you are doing ok right now , and I see you have trust and faith in God and that's a good place to be.

Thanks. I'm doing ok, yes. Not everyday, but mostly.

Cramping and muscle pain can be due to lots of things, from pinched nerves to a lack of some vitamins and minerals.

My 93 yr old Dad gave me the best advice " one day at the time" .

And so it is. Try to distract yourself - it does help.

What Elaine says. Best wishes to you!

Thankyou , My chiropractor told me today he read this book the last lecture and one of the things said is you can either be a tigger or an eeyore I'm trying to stop the eeyore and be a tigger.

Also I wanted to say I was just stretching my legs and both my hips popped is that a symptom?

You're very welcome! Best of luck to you.

I agree with the lovely Ms. Pie.

ZAPPHOON june 10, wheeler heart cntr, ground floor, 6:30 hope to see you there

So last night I woke up in the middle of the night having to catch my breath and I know that is a symptom, so I took the als quiz online and it said it thinks I have it, how do you know if your having abnormal weakness because I believe I am

Breathing issues typically come later in the progression. Waking up breathless is not a sure fire symptom. Can be a bad dream, apnea, anxiety, allergies etc etc.

I understand your panic, but please, try to relax a bit. I still firmly believe that the ALS specialist will give you good news in two weeks. Hang tough. You'll get through this. We all have had the waiting and pacing and sleepless nights before appointments. We understand and empathize.

It's very hard just waiting and that's why I took the online quiz and it said it thinks I have it
