Default Respiratory fear

I've been twitching for fifteen months, and this has been diagnosed as benign fasciculation syndrome: I had an EMG a couple of weeks after my twitching started, and while the neuro saw fascics on the EMG, he deemed them benign. I have no muscle weakness or atrophy, but I have developed breathing issues. I get breathless on exertion and have a very tight chest most of the time, with the feeling that I can't take a deep enough breath. Could this, after fifteen months of twitching, be the beginnings of respiratory onset?

It could be anything and with any breathing issues should be seen by a dr immediately.

I have had an echocardiogram and heart problems have been ruled out. My doctors think it is anxiety. I just wanted to know whether respiratory onset ALS is a likelihood, after so many months of twitching, that is.

Yes, anxiety, stress, fear, etc., definitely may cause breathing issues as well.
Make an appointment with your GP for your own peace of mind.
