I'm also have a lump deep down in my throth that I can only feel on the right side . I feel like every day my face is getting more numb and I'm very conceded I might have als . I also had a MRI that came back fine . What should I do ? . Before this all happen been having weird migrans for about a month .

Hi,

I DO have Bulbar ALS and I do know what it's like to have it and how it starts and manifests.

Nothing of what you are describing in your post remotely resembles Bulbar ALS onset.

It sounds to me that you may have some kind of sinus infection causing you all the symptoms you are describing.
How you been to see an Otolaryngologist to have you checked for sinus infection?

EDIT: Are you for real and not somebody making fools of ourselves and yourself?
I know there was somebody recently asking an odd question about "Sea Food" in another thread here. Such thread got deleted and the user banned.
I'm thinking if it might be you again because the person's profile said "diagnosed (1/1990) which is very odd.
If it's you, get a life, or I will have your post reported to a Moderator.

ALS does NOT tingle. Nor does it get diagnosed within three weeks of symptom onset... even ALS symptoms.

So don't even think about it - let alone concede! What should you do? First thing, stop this ALS thinking. Secondly stop searching the web. You'll only get stressed. Why not let your physician figure it out? Do you have a follow up appointment scheduled? It could be so many things, from deep sinus infection to a pinched nerve. Are you going to see an ENT?

Yeah I'm seeing a EMT tmr , and I'm not the that guy . Thanks for the response

So, from your profile, you were "diagnosed" on "09/1990" (23 years ago) but..."are now in the process of being diagnosed".

Interesting.

That was a mistake , Just made an account an hour . I fixed it, in the process of figuring what I have .

Okay. Fair enough then.

I can't help it. I am finally going to chime in on one of these.

1. Did you read the "stickies" in this forum BEFORE posting? If not, please go back and do so.

2. Why I'm assuming #1 is to be answered "no" is that NOTHING you described even remotely sounds like any stage of ALS regarding the bulbar region. Consider this a GOOD thing.

3. If you know anything at all about ALS, then you are aware that at BEST, it is exhausting for these PALS. They are hyper metabolic. The energy you and I expend is a fraction of what they expend doing the SAME activity. So even at rest, their bodies use up more energy. Above and beyond that, it can be very difficult for many of them to type. Keep in mind that every letter you see typed in reply to your post likely took considerable effort and energy.

4. They endure #3 above because they've been there. Afraid. Unsure. Wanting someone to reach out to. They don't want to leave you hanging if you are in the same situation. I am sure you ARE afraid, upset, unsure, and anxious to find out what's wrong. I'm betting you dollars to donuts it is NOT a case of ALS. Bulbar or otherwise. Please keep in mind what I've said and know that's why you may encounter some defensiveness here on the part of our PALS.

5. Again. Please read the sticky posts. Keep in mind that this is a community of people who DO, for SURE, have ALS or are caring for a loved one who does. And their participation here is a commitment of the time they have which has become even more precious and precarious.

Good luck and God bless!

Thank you so much, JamieL for chiming in on this one with these wise words.
I couldn't have said it better myself.

Kind regards,

Has anyone with bulbar ALS have pills get stuck deep in there throat. Is this a early sign of ALS , Im not able to swallow pills anymore for some reason .

You do not Have ALS, but you have been told this already. You need to get another opinion. Glad you are being proactive and seeing An ENT. Migraines can cause all sorts of symptoms as well as numbness and paralysis. Maybe you had an unusual migraine and its caused a huge amount of stress after you started going down the DIHALS trail. Has happened before on this forum. The more stress....the worse the swallowing.

The worst symptom that I have is I been waking up with an extremely dry throat . I would cough up very think white plhem and sometimes it would lead to a little of a breathing problem . Im not enjoying whatever im having . Never had this before.

Sounds like allergies. Not ALS.

I was wondering if the my soft pallet in my mouth could be the reason why I cant sleep at night . My first symptom was a numb feeling on the roof of my mouth when I swallowed . I went to the ENT specialist and he didn't run any test on me . But I was just wondering would it be obvious by looking at it , if my soft pallet in my mouth was giving out or getting
weak. Would it look a different way ?

I don't believe I have anxiety but ever since my swallowing problems that i only feel in my right side of my throat and the right side of my face getting numb its getting me a lil freaked out . I apologize if im asking alot of Questions .
