Does anyone have any examples of their foot atrophy? I went to the doctors yesterday regarding my twitching and possible foot atrophy. He looked at and felt my feet. I tried to show the dent in the side of my foot to him but I fear he didn't understand. He said I have naturally very flat feet. Would he have surely noticed even slight atrophy from feeling? Also, unrelated but if I went to the doctor and asked for him to conduct a neurological exam (reflexes, babinski etc.)can he do this or does it need to be a specialist neurologist? I will try to upload pictures of my own feet later.

You are confusing Neurologist with Chiropodist. An easy mistake to make....

In that case, would an examination of reflexes, babinski etc. still be quite prevelant in determining als?

all primary care docs know the basics of reflexes and can do the Babinsky, etc.

Your doc would have compared both your feet and noticed if there was any difference. And you'd have weakness in your foot before the atrophy, which comes later.

Do tendons in atrophied feet stick out all the time (even when the foot is stationary)?. My doctor noted I have a bone sticking out near my toe but said you'd see the tendons. I see and can feel mine much much more in my left foot when I move but not when its still.

If you carry on staring at your feet you may well trip up and break your neck. I would suggest that you stop, unless, of course, you really do want to end up being paralysed.

So don't move your left foot - problem solved, move on. You have been told by your doctor and by the good people on this forum (on quite a few occasions) to stop your shenanigans (my interpretation). I think you should contact EnglishRose. Sounds like you both have a lot in common.....? Between flicking your legs and photographing your feet you will have a great night out. Enjoy.
