Oscar,

If you are wanting an answer from Wright, you might have a faster answer if you place it on his visitors message. This is a busy time of year for him.. he is a professor at a medical teaching university.

Good luck to you,

Oscar

Those findings mean absolutely nothing when they are not in the company of active denervation and other clinical signs and symptoms. That is why your EMG was deemed normal.

Analogy: if you go to the doctor and you have a headache but have no other neurological signs or symptoms and an MRI is done but nothing is found, your headache is due to one of a gazillion things that cause headaches. If you have a headache along with blurred vision or balance issues or other neurological problems and an MRI is done and a growth is found, then there would be cause for concern.

Your EMG findings are the headache with no other issues.

loved the analogy wrighty....made it so clear and easy to understand......johnny

wright thank you for your response
I had already put more detail of other neurological tests on a message in your own page
If you have time and only if you have time ,can you say if this helps elucidate the emg results in any way
I know your a very busy man so no worries if you dont have the time
best wishes Margaret

If your doctor has found irregularities in MS tests--why are you even focused on ALS? See an MS specialist. There are other tests they can do to confirm that as a diagnosis--or rule it out.

Signs on MS are a GOOD thing--when compared to having ALS.
