Does ALS bulbar present itself with pain and numbness on one side of your tongue and mouth around the gums and sometimes lips? I've had twitching all over my body but that has subsided almost completely. Any ideas? BFS?

Pain and numbness point away from ALS. See a dentist first.

AL.

Thanks Al. I saw a dentist and a peredontist and everything looks fine. I even had xrays done at both places but it's been this way since Nov. It may at times go away for a day or two and then come back. I'll just have to wait and see what happens when and if i ever see the neuro. It's stressful for me. I go from buying a new car/house one day to thinking negative thoughts the next. Thanks AL.

If your dentist says everything is OK, then go back to your primary care doctor. He/she may figure it out or refer to to a specialist that can -- like an ear, nose, and throat specialist.

As Al said, pain and numbness (sensory nerve issues) point away from ALS, which affects the motor nerves only.

Sounds like you have a neuralgia. Your GP should have an idea.

My advice is see a nose, throat, ear specialist. Any of those canal that are infected can cause pain and numbness...sensory issues...(sensory issues are not correlated to ALS). Good luck.
