I read the symptom thread and I am still scared. I have been having a heavy feeling in my left leg for about 4 months. I have muscle spasms that come and go. My fingers will have a slight tremor in them periodicly. I went to a chiropractor who is studying neurology and he found a really tight spot in my lower back. He said all of these symptoms are due to the spot in my lower back. I'm not convinced he's right, as I'm afraid these are the first signs of ALS. Please give me your opinions on whether I'm being a hypocondriact or not.

First you need to understand that only a qualified Neurologist can diagnose you. No one on this forum will be able to say from what you have written what could be wrong and no Dr will diagnose you on line. People get hung up on Spasms but unless they are accompanied by true weakness then it means nothing!Right now my advice to you is to put ALS out of your mind because you have zero reason to suspect it. If you are truly concerned make an appointment with a neurologist that is a MND specialist. I would not worry though.

Thank you very much for the reply. I have tried to put it out of my mind, but every time I get a muscle twitch or something of the like my mind starts going 100 mph. My wife is about fed up with me.

I'm no doctor but I'd agree with your wife. See a real doctor or forget about ALS.

AL.

Al: Get to the doctor. I waited after developing a limp...figured no big deal. I was diagnosed with ALS 10/2010. Chiropractor did not good for me!
