I had a normal swallow study about 6 weeks ago. I continued to feel as if I had aspirated slightly or food sort of staying in the nasal passage. I would notice small bits of whatever I ate when I would clear my throat of the nasal drainage sometimes hours later. Yesterday after only one bite of salsa, felt the burning immediately high in my nasal cavity. EGD showed normal esophagus but stomach looked irritated Bx. not back yet.
To date speech seems normal, increased saliva, chronic post nasal drainage, twitches randomly all over. I was expecting egd to show reflux disease, does'nt look like that is the case. Not sure where to go with my questions. Have follow up appt.s in Dec. with neuro. Gasto will call with Bx. results. Any thoughts on where to go with this or what questions shoud I be asking. Does this sound like bulbar onset?

Terry

Sounds to me like you need an ENT to take a look at you. Doesn't sound like bulbar to me.

I agree with Al, I never had problems through the nose.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for the comments. I have seen an ENT, only notes slight irritation and mild edema. He ref. me to Gastro for poss. reflux. What were your onset symptoms like? My concerns are the drainage in throat is getting more constant and thicker, and swallowing is strange. It is slower and as I said it collects in the nasal passage. Thanks for your time, I feel miserable with these throat issues. When I read your posts I can only imagine how frustrated and tired you must get.

Al, thanks for your thoughts, much appreciated.

Terry - sorry you are worried about ALS possibility...not a good thing to have to worry about. My bulbar/limb onset diagnosed is recent. I don't ever recall having the type of nasal issues you are talking about. mine always feels like i have a big ball of cotton or something stuck back there that i just can't get cleared out. praying for a quick and accurate diagnosed of what's up with you...blessings!

I agree with Al. See an ENT specialist. I have bulbar onset and your symptoms are not familar to me.
