Good luck to you! I will be sending good thoughts your way - Amye

What I need right now is to pray for a miracle before tomorrow when I get confirmation from the Dr. who said today that he is certain I have ALS. Very sad day and i am in shock and feeling sick to my stomach.

Sorry to hear that, Rox. I hope you will get good news tomorrow.

May I ask how old you are?

I am sorry to hear about your appointment news,

Lydia

i am 50 years old and have two boys at home still who are 11 and 13. Breaks my heart!

Dear Rox,

I am so sorry about the outcome of your visit. I hope you and your family get appropriate support if it is confirmed to be ALS. There are a number of people on this forum who have lived for many years following the diagnosis, so let's hope if it is indeed ALS that you follow their path and see you children grow up. I have a 6 months old son, my partner is 43 years old. Dani

I am so sorry to hear this. I know what a shock it is. Maybe you will get some news today that will soften the blow.

It is natural to grieve at this time, but try to remember that there is hope. 50 is young for this disease, and often younger people have slower progression. I have read so many stories of people with children like you, who were given only a few years to live, but have survived to see their children graduate, get married, have kids and more. You have so much to live for. They can't cure this disease, but modern technology can keep you alive and communicating. You can be there for your children. It is all too much to take in now, but in time you will be able to find a way forward.

Rox, I am so sorry. Let us know how it goes at your next visit. Remember, we are all here to help you deal with this.

Thank you to all. Hal, those are very reassuring words. i have another EMg today and the Dr. will talk to us next week after all the test are in. I feel certain that this doc would not just shoot from the hip and tell us he feels i have ALS if it was not. He is one of the top Neuro's in Seattle who specializes in this. But all these other test are neccesary for final diagnosis. He did tell me he will not have to do much probing of my muscles he just needs to see it for himself. He told me to off Google search and I have, but I also have already started to feel some connection with all of you. may God be with each of us and our families.

Rox
