Just a quick note to all who still doubt the power of an EMG: 2 yrs ago my partner had a 'dirty' EMG, showing changes in his then wasting left arm, abdomen and legs. It has taken 2 years before he noticed any weakness in his abdominal muscles, so this test picked bad stuff up very, very early. To me this shows that the test is quite sensitive.
